DID YOU KNOW?
In the United States, a woman is more likely to be assaulted, injured, raped or killed by a male partner than by any other type of assailant.
An estimated 3 to 4 million American women are battered each year by their husbands or partners.
Violence will occur at least once in two-thirds of all marriages.
It has been estimated that 30% of all rape victims are battered women.
Every 9 seconds a woman is beaten in the U.S.
Approximately 90% of children are aware of the violence directed at their mother.
Research results suggest that battering is the single most common factor among mothers of abused children.
Each year, more than one million women seek medical assistance for injuries caused by battering.
