Survivor Empowerment

Empowerment through EDUCATION and SELF AWARENESS. The empowerment classes are designed to educate and equip survivors with information and skills needed to safely transition into a life that is violence free. The program consists of twelve classes that focuses on the impact of the cycle of violence has on survivors and their families.  The STAR program is based on the “Empowerment Model”, which is a non-psychotherapeutic approach that allows survivors to see intimate partner violence as an imbalance of power within relationships and navigate their personal recovery and healing by using evidence- based materials. The program places emphasis on empowering individuals to break the cycle of intimate partner violence by means of support, education, awareness and community resources.
